SVTC Off-Season Blood Drive “Race”!

The triathlon off-season is nearly upon us! As your training pace slows, its the perfect time to donate blood, so SVTC has teamed up with the Stanford Blood Center to organize the first-ever SVTC Off-Season Blood Drive. 
Why?
•         500 of the healthiest club members on the planet - perfect donors!
•         An off-season that will allow for recovery time!
•         Because donations are critically needed, especially over the holidays! Each and every donation can help save a life. All blood types are needed – stores are critically low! 
It’s a “Race”!
And most importantly, because SVTC knows you thrive on competition. .. We have turned this Blood Drive into a "race". Stanford Blood Center will be distributing prizes to winners in the following categories (all optional):
•         ALL participants - Everyone who participates or attempts to participate will get a thank you gift. 
•         Grand Prize: SVTC Member who Recruited the Greatest # of Non-Members to Join Them in Donating
•         Prizes based on your health, should you choose to participate in these particular competitions:
        •         Best Vital Signs
        •         Best Hemoglobin Value (Male)
        •         Best Hemoglobin Value (Female)
        •         Shortest Draw Time (Time must be obtained from the phlebotomist after the draw is completed.)

When? 
This "race" starts now and continues through the majority of the off-season. Awards will be distributed at the SVTC Holiday Party in early January. We'll also take a picture there, which the Stanford Blood Center will post on its website!
